Hair transplantation has evolved significantly over the last few decades, incorporating new technologies that make procedures more effective and personalized. Among these innovations, eyelash transplantation stands out, an advanced technique that has recently arrived in Brazil.
The first eyelash transplant performed in the country was conducted using the FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) technique, which allows for eyelash transplantation strand by strand, ensuring natural and delicate results. This approach marks an important advance in the area of hair procedures, offering both an aesthetic and functional solution for those who have suffered eyelash loss.
Eyelash transplant in Brazil
The procedure is recommended for people with total or partial loss of eyelashes, whether due to trauma, illness, medical treatments or aesthetic reasons. Precisely planned, the transplant uses hair follicles extracted from the nape of the neck – known as the donor area.
These follicles were implanted in the upper eyelid margin, respecting the natural angle of eyelash growth, which varies between 30 and 45 degrees. To ensure aesthetic harmony, follicular units containing only one hair each were chosen, avoiding an artificial appearance.
“The surgery took about four hours and was performed under local anesthesia with light sedation to ensure the patient’s comfort. Recovery only requires simple care in the first few days, and the new eyelashes begin to appear between three and six months after the procedure,” explains Dr. Thalita Carlesso.
FUE Technique: Precision and natural results
The FUE technique, widely used in hair and eyebrow transplants, stands out for its precision. The method allows for the individual extraction of follicles and their implantation strand by strand, providing a natural and minimally invasive result.
Impact of the procedure
Eyelash transplantation is not only an aesthetic solution, but also a way to restore the self-esteem of patients who have faced eyelash loss. By offering natural and permanent results, the technique contributes to improving the emotional well-being of patients.
With the pioneering of this procedure, Brazil reaffirms its prominence in the area of hair transplants, opening new horizons for increasingly innovative techniques.
