What happened to the dinosaurs?

Once upon a time… there was a world very different from ours, where dinosaurs ruled the Earth. They roamed through giant forests, swam in deep rivers, and even flew through the sky with enormous wings! Pedro loved to imagine what it would be like to live in that time—running alongside a T-Rex or flying with a pterodactyl.

But one day, something very strange happened in the sky…

Up in space, a giant rock—larger than an entire city—was traveling very fast. It was an asteroid, and no one could stop it. It came flying down and… BOOM!!! It crashed into Earth with such a strong explosion that it shook everything! The ground shook, the sky darkened, and smoke rose so high that it covered the sun for many, many days.

Without the sun, plants began to die. And without plants, herbivorous dinosaurs (those that ate plants) went hungry. Then, carnivorous dinosaurs (those that ate other animals) also ran out of food. Little by little, the dinosaurs began to disappear.

But wait, Pedro… it’s not all over. Because some tiny animals survived. And over time, some of them turned into the little birds that fly in the sky today! That’s right — the dinosaurs didn’t disappear completely: they just changed shape. So, the next time you see a little bird, you can say: “Hello, dinosaur!”

The end.
